Beyoncé has officially released her “CUFF IT (WETTER REMIX)” in response to DJ Esentrik’s viral mashup of “CUFF IT” and Twista’s 2009 sultry tune “Wetter.”
Beyoncé didn’t just switch up the production; she reimagined the song with a new intro, an altered verse and added vocals. The remix is packaged with an acapella version of “CUFF IT” and an instrumental version.
“Soooo I’ve been hiding this for awhile and now I can finally say it! CUFF IT WETTER REMIX IS OFFICIAL!” DJ Esentrik tweeted. “Thank you to @Beyonce @parkwood and most importantly the DJs and fans that supported this from the start! Love to all!

“CUFF IT (WETTER REMIX)” was initially released last Friday (Feb. 3) via Beyoncé’s official website, just two days ahead of the 65th Grammy Awards, where she made history multiple times.
Her critically-acclaimed RENAISSANCE won Best Dance/Electronic Music Album, making her the first Black woman to win in this Grammy category.
She won three more Grammys on Sunday night: Best Dance/Electronic Recording (“BREAK MY SOUL”), Best Traditional R&B Performance (“PLASTIC OFF THE SOFA”) and Best R&B Song (“CUFF IT”).
Following her fourth Grammy win of the evening, Beyoncé broke the record for the most Grammy wins in history (a career total of 32). After winning a trophy for Best R&B Song, she delivered a stirring acceptance speech.
“I want to thank God for protecting me. Thank you, God. I’d like to thank my uncle Johnny, who’s not here, but he’s here in spirit. I’d like to thank my parents, my father, my mother for loving me and pushing me,” said Beyoncé.
She added, “I’d like to thank my beautiful husband, my beautiful three children who are at home watching. I’d like to thank the queer community for your love and for inventing the genre.”
Circling back to “CUFF IT,” the funky tune reached No. 1 at R&B radio and urban radio in December 2022. Furthermore, it peaked at No. 2 on Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart. At the time of publication, “CUFF IT” is No. 4 on the same chart.
“CUFF IT” is the second song from RENAISSANCE to get an official remix. In August 2022, Beyoncé released “BREAK MY SOUL REMIXES,” a four-track compilation of reworked versions of the motivational anthem. Then, she teamed with pop icon Madonna for “BREAK MY SOUL (THE QUEENS REMIX).”
