Grammy-nominated singer/songwriter Victoria Monét has signed a deal with RCA Records. She joins a roster that includes Bryson Tiller, Chris Brown, H.E.R., Jazmine Sullivan and more.
The newly-signed singer celebrates her new label home with her freshly-released single “Smoke” with Lucky Daye, who is also with RCA.
The blazing track, steamy enough to set off a smoke detector, was produced by D’Mile, Tim Suby and Yogi.
“Little fireworks that light up for me / In my fingertips I burn my worries / Do it somethin’ like that eight-track shorty / Keep it in rotation, it’s a celebration every time we smoke,” Monét sings in the radio-ready chorus.
“‘Smoke’ is the beginning of a new era for me! Exhaling the old and inhaling the new,” says Monét. “I am also really happy that this release is with collaborators I consider family! I can’t wait to elevate. I want all the smoke!”
Monét’s “Smoke” arrives with a trippy video directed by Charlie Denis, which can be viewed below.
“Smoke” is the first offering from Monét’s upcoming project, Jaguar II, the sequel to her critically-acclaimed 2020 EP, Jaguar. Monét teased the project in a 2020 interview with Rated R&B.

“I’m in the studio every day. At any chance, I could beat out one of the songs I have planned for part two or three and the tracklist could change. I feel comfort in the fact that the bulk of the work is done. I’m just leaving some space open for chance and for dream,” Monét told Rated R&B in 2020. “I loved so many of the songs. I was like, ‘I can’t put out a 50-song project. I need to pick the very best ones and give it to people slowly.’
Monét will perform her first-ever headlining show in Los Angeles on March 31 at El Rey Theatre, in partnership with Spotify and Goldenvoice.
