Rising singer NBDY has released his new song “Feels,” produced by Eestbound, via Wolfchild Music.
On the emotive track, NBDY sings about the anxiety that may arise when falling in love with someone, while also yearning for reassurance that his partner shares the same feelings.
“Just when I open up / I start to think it’s not enough / I can’t get away from this / Seemin’ like the more I give / I just want it to go like we planned it,” he sings on the slow-burning tune.
NBDY tells Rated R&B he wrote the song after signing his first record deal. “My career was taking off but it felt like the beginning of the end for you and I. The pain I went through when I lost my grandma at the same time that my career started going up made me reclusive and made you resentful,” he shares with Rated R&B as if he’s speaking directly to the love interest.
He continues, “Those late nights crying and waiting up for me. The lies and the other women. My demeanor hid that I was afraid to lose you and now that’s the nightmare I’m living in. I can hold on to the thought that If I opened up more you’d still be mine but I’d be delusional to think you’d accept my lifestyle. So I pulled up on Bam and Loso (Tha Hitbangaz) to pen this record with me. Throwing back this gentleman’s jack, I’m saying to myself, ‘Why am I so full of fear?’ I’m still healing but through the smoke and mirrors, I know one thing is real — the way that you make me feel.”
“Feels” is the follow-up to “Take Control,” released in March. Of the latter track, NBDY explained, “‘Take Control’ is about doing what you want, when you want, how you want walking out here as a wolf. The flirtatious melodies and lyrics play on my sex appeal, confidence, and how I’m having fun being young and successful.”
In April 2021, NBDY released his Tunnel Vision EP. The eight-track project was executive produced by TouchedDown Sound CEO and Grammy-nominated producer Gourty Maxx (Musiq Soulchild, Tayla Parx).
