Rising R&B singer Josh Levi has returned with Disc Two (Scratched Up), an expanded version of his 2022 EP, via Raedio/Atlantic Records.
Disc Two (Scratched Up) features four additional songs, including the previously shared “EGO” and a sped-up version of his popular track “All Over Again.”
Among the new tracks is “See Low,” where Levi tries to grapple with unrequited love.
He sings in the first verse: “You came home smellin’ different / When do we start being distant, yeah / Don’t turn it into a bad decision / Is it enough for me, girl / You want my time, not my feelings / You in a rush to go back to your place / You never want what you given.”
Levi released the original version of Disc Two in June 2022. The project included a feature from Normani on “Don’t They (Remix).”
In an interview with Rated R&B, Levi revealed the idea to remix “Don’t They” came up during his video shoot for the song, which co-stars Normani. “I thought [Normani] was joking on set of that video. She was like, ‘Send me the song.’ I was like, ‘Stop playing with me.’ But she was actually serious. She’s like, ‘No, for real,'” Levi told Rated R&B.
He continued, “So we wrote that. We finished it. We produced it a little bit more and brought it to life. Then it ended up being on Disc Two. I think I wanted to release it sooner, but it ended up working out perfectly that it was on the second installment.”
Levi also compared Disc Two to its predecessor, Disc One. “It feels like growth. It feels like a coming-of-age moment for myself. It’s uncensored, more raw and honest,” Levi said to Rated R&B. “It’s Disc One on steroids. I’m really expressing the things that I’ve been through.”
Levi supported Disc Two on his headlining Vices Tour in the late summer of 2022.
