Shawn Stockman of Boyz II Men has released a new song titled “This Is How I Feel.”
This sensitive ballad has a gentle rocking and swaying production, resembling the pop-R&B sound of the studio team Stargate.
Lyrically, Stockman counts how his partner illuminates his life with their love and warm presence.
“Like a new song from your favorite singer / Or a compliment from a perfect stranger / Like a whole day, that was a good day / Or reuniting with someone that was far away / This is how I feel about you,” Stockman sings.
“This Is How I Feel” is Stockman’s fourth song release of the year. He previously released “Fallen Angel,” “Love” and “I’ll Be on My Way.”
The latter tune, produced by Stockman, was featured in a winter episode of CW’s All-American, where Stockman made a cameo as himself to perform the sentimental track.
There are no additional details that confirm if these four aforementioned tracks will appear on a future project by Stockman.
Stockman’s first solo album, Foreword, was released in 2020. The album spawned the hit single “Feelin Lil’ Som’n,” which peaked at No. 10 on Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart.
“I can confidently say this album put in an environment like being at home — whether you are working from home or just not doing at all — is great mood music,” Stockman told Rated R&B in an interview.
“It allows everybody to put something in the background while you’re cooking breakfast for the kids or for yourself or doing whatever and it not intrude with your day. It’s music that people will enjoy in these types of environments.”
In 2022, Stockman expanded Foreword as a deluxe edition, including the bonus track “Cocoa Blue.”
This Saturday (May 6), Stockman will reunite with Boyz II Men at Usher’s sold-out Lovers & Friends Festival.
The one-day affair takes place at Las Vegas Festival Grounds in Las Vegas, Nevada. Mariah Carey, Miguel, Jhené Aiko, Summer Walker, Bryson Tiller, PARTYNEXTDOOR, Usher and more are set to perform.
