Usher, Miguel, Coco Jones and More to Perform at 2023 iHeartRadio Living Black! Special

The 2023 edition will be hosted by Jess Hilarious.

iHeartRadio has announced the lineup for its third annual Living Black! event. Usher, Miguel, and Coco Jones are among this year’s lineup.

The event, produced by Emmy and Grammy winner Rikki Hughes and Magic Lemonade Team, takes place Aug. 2 at Market Street in Inglewood, California.

The upcoming star-studded concert will also feature a performance by rappers GloRilla and NLE Choppa, as well as appearances by Chlöe, Ty Dolla $ign, LL Cool J, Warren G, Roddy Rich, Kash Doll, D Smoke, and others.

The hour-long special, inspired by the culture, history, and innovation of Black culture and hip-hop, will feature a block party theme. Along with music, the show will offer interactive segments for both the in-person and remote audiences to immerse themselves in Black culture.

Additionally, the 50th anniversary of hip-hop will be showcased at iHeartRadio Living Black!

“iHeartRadio Living Black! is an exciting opportunity to celebrate Black culture, highlight Black excellence and showcase its influence Now in our third year, Living Black! gathers its best lineup yet and we’re thrilled to bring them and our audience a truly unforgettable experience,’ added Thea Mitchem, Executive VP of Programming Hip Hop and R&B Strategy for iHeartMedia.

Comedian Jess Hilarious will host iHeartRadio Living Black! Additional iHeartRadio talent will be seen throughout the special, including DJ Envy, Charlamagne Tha God, Angela Yee, Big Boy and Nyla Symone.

Living Black! will be streamed exclusively on iHeartRadio’s YouTube and Facebook platforms. It will also be broadcast live on iHeart hip-hop and R&B stations and the iHeartRadio app. The event is scheduled to start at 7 p.m. local time.

Usher, Jones and Miguel each have celebrated a No. 1 song this year.

Most recently, Usher, who won Best Male R&B/Pop Artist at the 2023 BET Awards, topped R&B radio and Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart with “GLU.” 

Jones, who is going on tour soon, held the top spot on Billboard’s Mainstream R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart for four weeks with the song “ICU.” The Camper-produced song has been certified gold with over 500,000 equivalent units sold and led urban radio.

Additionally, “ICU” has recently entered the top 10 on Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart.

As for Miguel, his sleeper hit “Sure Thing” remains at No. 1 for a fifth week on Billboard’s Pop Airplay chart. It went to No. 1 on Mainstream Top 40 radio last month and has peaked at No. 11 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
