The reign of Coco Jones shows no signs of stopping. The R&B singer’s current single “ICU” graces the No. 1 spot on urban radio this week, marking her first time achieving this accomplishment.
Jones is one of three women in R&B with chart-topping songs on urban radio this year. SZA and Summer Walker were the only other women to achieve this feat before her. It’s worth mentioning that both SZA and Walker also earned their first No. 1 on the format.
Jones acquired several notable firsts this year, particularly in the previous month. First, Jones earned her inaugural No. 1 on Billboard’s Mainstream R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart with “ICU.”
A week later, the track produced by Camper received a gold award from the RIAA, which was her first.

“ICU is officially Gold !!!! Yall… this is my first gold certification and I am at a loss for words. Thank you God, thank you to EVERYBODY who has made this a possibility. GRATEFUL,” Jones wrote in a caption.
“ICU” helped Jones make her debut at No. 88 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. This was her first entry on the highly-competitive chart. So far, it has reached a peak position of No. 63.
Since announcing “ICU” as the second single from her debut EP, What I Didn’t Tell You, Jones has been actively promoting it. She has been seen everywhere singing the track, including at the 2022 Soul Train Awards, The Jennifer Hudson Show, and, most recently, Vevo.
Jones reissued her debut project in January by releasing What I Didn’t Tell You (Deluxe). She has now shifted her focus to a new track called “Double Back,” which has an official video.
Jones has a stacked performance calendar this year. On July 15, she is set to perform at the Broccoli City Festival in Washington, D.C. Later that month, she will play at the Harlem Festival of Culture at Randall’s Island Park in New York City.
