Chris Brown is heating up the charts with “Summer Too Hot.”

His current single debuts at No. 5 on Billboard’s R&B Digital Song Sales chart this week. It’s Brown’s 49th top 10 hit on this list and 78th entry overall.

Elsewhere on Billboard, “Summer Too Hot” opens at No. 93 on the Hot 100, tallying Brown’s 115th entry.

Additionally, it’s No. 6 on Hot R&B Songs for a third consecutive week; No. 17 for a second week on the R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart; and No. 31 on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs.

Brown released the official video for “Summer Too Hot” on Aug. 18. The dance-packed visual “is an ode to a passionate summer in Los Angeles where he (Chris) is continuing to level up and find his groove, while also acknowledging the people (his dancers) who have led him to where he is,” according to press materials.

The video has over 5.6 million views on YouTube, while the official audio has 14.6 million streams on Spotify.

“Summer Too Hot” isn’t Brown’s only song that’s making an impact on the charts this week. His collaboration with Ciara, “How We Roll” from her CiCi EP, reached No. 1 on Billboard’s R&B Digital Song Sales chart. It’s Brown’s fifth No. 1 on this chart.

Here’s a breakdown of Brown’s No. 1 hits on the R&B Digital Song Sales chart:

  • “How We Roll,” Ciara with Chris Brown, one week at No. 1 so far (2023)
  • “No Guidance” featuring Drake, five weeks at No. 1 (2019)
  • “Undecided,” one week at No. 1 (2019)
  • “Freaky Friday,” Lil Dicky Featuring Chris Brown, five weeks at No. 1 (2018)
  • “Ayo” with Tyga, one week at No. 1 (2015)

Co-produced by Roccstar and Gabriel Roland, “Summer Too Hot” is the lead single from Brown’s upcoming 11th album, 11:11. The album is tentatively scheduled to release Nov. 11 via RCA Records.

According to Brown, his next album will only contain 11 tracks.

“I see Some of my die hard fans wanting me to add more songs for the new project and I love y’all for that. But, I just feel I need you all to really miss me and take my art seriously. IM JUST focused on giving y’all the best to digest. 11:11 make a wish,” he wrote on Instagram.
