JAHKOY has kicked off a new era. The emerging R&B star has shared his new single, “Sweet Tooth,” produced by Justin Wiggins (Cedric Brazle, Ye Ali). It arrives with an accompanying video directed by Webb and Rome.
On the sugary mid-tempo track, JAHKOY expresses his desire to unwrap his lover like his favorite candy and enjoy them all the time. “Got me where you want me / You can have me how you want / There’s a special place for you inside my heart.”
Regarding the inspiration of his new single, JAHKOY shares, “‘Sweet Tooth’ is about a guy not wanting their lover to leave in the morning. You just want to stay with them and spend time with them and love and care for [them]. You just need more and more — just like candy; you can’t get enough.”
“Sweet Tooth” is JAHKOY’s latest offering this year. He confirmed that it is the first taste of a new era for him.
The new song comes on the heels on Pretty Conversation, JAHKOY’s second album of the year. Wiggins co-executive produced the album released on Sept. 5. It included the previously shared songs “More Than Anything” and “Man on Fire.”
“Pretty Conversation is a strong feeling of connection when you are getting to know someone, and the conversation is just flowing and you find yourself constantly thinking about this person and want to know more,” JAHKOY told Rated R&B of the album.
He continued, “You want to know the good and bad about them, and all their perfect imperfections of what makes them who they are. It’s connecting on a more emotional and more mental level. Even during the times where you are not seeing eye to eye, everything will be good because you have each other.”
Pretty Conversation follows JAHKOY’s Healing Phase, which was his first album of 2023.
Following the release of Pretty Conversation, JAHKOY was featured on Cedric Brazle’s “Sexy Lady (Remix).”
