Ruben Studdard is not slowing down. The Grammy-nominated singer has unveiled “Masterpiece,” his third song from his forthcoming album, The Way I Remember It.
In his latest track, Studdard skillfully transports his listeners to the classic R&B sounds of the ’70s. The song’s lyrics are a tribute to his lady, with Studdard showering her with compliments about her appearance. He affirms that she is a natural beauty, a Kodak moment that requires no retouching or alterations.
As previously noted, “Masterpiece” is part of Studdard’s next album, The Way I Remember It. The LP releases Oct. 27 via SoNo Recording Group (SRG/ILS).
The Way I Remember It will consist of 10 tracks. Some of the songs include the title track and “W.I.F.E.” The former track was issued as the lead single, while the latter was released upon the announcement of the album.
Studdard remains affiliated with songwriter Balewa Muhammad (Mariah Carey, Jaheim, Fantasia), who co-wrote his latest single along with the last two.

Studdard’s first album of new material in nine years has not yet produced an official single at radio. His last album, Unconditional Love, debuted at No. 7 on Billboard’s Top R&B Albums chart.
Following Unconditional Love, Studdard paid homage to Luther Vandross with a tribute album (Ruben Sings Luther Vandross). He toured the 2018 album as well.
Studdard is promoting his new music while on tour with fellow American Idol alum, Clay Aiken. The Twenty The Tour will continue through January 2024. Tickets are available at rubenandclay.com.
