After much anticipation, Louis York, the duo composed of Claude Kelly and Chuck Harmony, has released their duet with Tamia, “Three Little Words.”
The sentimental track beautifully captures the essence of a romantic pair falling in love, as they dispel the butterflies to express their emotions.
“You made me open my heart too soon / And I wasn’t ready and neither were you / But now it’s said and done / I know that we both want to run / But what if we give in to what we’re running from,” Kelly and Tamia harmonize.
“Three Little Words” arrives with a performance-style video directed by Karl Weidmann, which can be viewed below.
“Three Little Words” is the follow-up to the New American Soul duo’s singles “Heaven Bound” with Jessie J and “Alone A Lot” with Anthony Hamilton.
The latter duet peaked at No. 14 on the Billboard Adult R&B Airplay chart dated Dec. 9, 2023. It’s currently No. 16 at the time of publication.
All three songs will appear on Louis York’s upcoming album, Songs With Friends. The collaborative album will follow Louis York’s 2019 debut effort, American Griots.
As for Tamia, “Three Little Words” marks her first official single release since her 2018 album, Passion Like Fire. The album included her hit single “Leave It Smokin‘,” which reached No. 1 at R&B radio (previously known as urban AC radio).
Before that, in 2015, Tamia released her Love Life album. Louis York produced and co-wrote the sensual “Lipstick.” They also worked on Tamia’s Grammy-nominated single “Beautiful Surprise,” the title track of her 2012 album.
Tamia will launch her joint tour with Joe on Feb. 9 in Washington, D.C. The two will play shows across the U.S., making stops in Detroit, Charlotte, Brooklyn, Los Vegas and Chicago. The tour concludes May 4 in St. Louis, Missouri.
