R&B newcomer Elmiene has teamed with Grammy-winning producer D’Mile for his new single “Crystal Tears.”
On the plaintive track, Elmiene wonders if he can get a second chance at love with a former partner.
“I need to know / If you can feel / Could I ever be your special person / Show you I can give you love and devotion,” the honey-voiced Elmiene sings. He later croons, “I apologize for leaving, and I know that / If I curse my ways / Won’t mean you might stay.”
Speaking on his new track, Elmiene tells Rated R&B, “‘Crystal Tears’ was a fun one because I was working with D’Mile for the first time. That man is today’s Teddy Riley, Darkchild and everything in between. Making R&B with him was effortless.”
“Crystal Tears” is Elmiene’s first taste of new music since releasing his EP Marking My Time last October via Polydor Records/Def Jam. The six-song set included songs like “Marking My Time,” “Someday” and “Mad At Fire.”
Elmiene closed 2023 out with a cover of Jeff Buckley’s 1994 track “Lover, You Should’ve Come Over.”
In January, Elmiene returned with a live EP, Live at RAK Studios. The four-song offer included live renditions of “Mama,” “Mad At Fire,” “Someday” and “Marking My Time.”
Last month, the emerging singer released an unplugged version of “Someday.”
On April 4, Elmiene will kick off his sold-out tour, which will visit eight cities in Europe and the U.S.
