City Central Productions has announced the honorees for 2024 Black Music Honors.

The ninth annual ceremony, co-hosted by LeToya Luckett and Deray Davis, will be taped live on Saturday, May 18, at Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre in Atlanta, Georgia.

This year’s honorees include Johnny Gill (R&B Soul Music Icon Award), Patrice Rushen (Lifetime Achievement Award), Bootsy Collins (Legend Award), and Hezekiah Walker (Gospel Music Icon Award).

“For the past 9 years, Black Music Honors has surrounded and supported the amazing artists who have entertained millions,” says Don Jackson, Black Music Honors founder and executive producer.

Jackson continues, “This year’s celebrants are trailblazers and deserve to be honored. We are extremely proud to bring more visibility to these tremendous icons who have stayed the course from humble beginnings to careers that span decades. Their lives and stories are part of the beautiful tapestry of black music…which has impacted the globe.”
