Trevor Jackson is on a roll. After releasing his Heads Up EP in March, the singer and actor has returned with his new single, “He Don’t Know.”
On the Afrobeats and R&B fusion track, produced by $K, Jackson sings about navigating a secret romance. “Know you got a man / But how you feel about that? / I’ll do what he doesn’t / I promise I float on your water / Like Captain Barbossa,” he croons.
As noted above, “He Don’t Know” follows the release of Trevor Jackson’s Heads Up EP. “Typically, a heads-up is a warning, a call out, and a gesture to let people know that something is coming,” Jackson told Rated R&B.
He added, “Heads Up, the EP, is just the beginning, and I want people to know that these four R&B classics I just released are a beautiful introduction of what’s to come. You know, it’s complicated.”
The four-track project, which explored situationships and sneaky links, included features with Malaika Terry and Parris Ladame.
Heads Up is the follow-up to Jackson’s 2022 EP, Show Me Diamonds.
“With all due respect to the culture of drill music, I felt the inspiration to add it,” said Jackson. “That space has turned into ‘drill&b’ and people are loving it. I had a great time making this project and I wanted my fans to feel the same energy I felt when I made it as they listen in. Here’s a little treat before the holidays.”
Earlier this month, Jackson joined singer Coline Creuzot on the remix of her song “Good Things Fall Apart.”
