Genre-bending singer Genia has released her new EP, 4 AM In The Ville, via Def Jam Recordings.
The six-track EP opens with “Let Me Wander,” a previously shared track that finds Genia ready to exit a relationship that no longer serves her. “Sick of changing who I am just to feel you in the moment / Losing me will always be an L and you gotta hold it,” she sings.
In “Pretty Lies,” the current focus track produced by Skeyez, Genia confronts an unfaithful lover. “I saw the text messages / I see the way you handling this / You swear to God that she is just a friend / Swear, looking at you now make me sick,” sings Genia.
Speaking on her new EP, Genia shares, “On 4 AM, I touch on what it feels like to fall in love, fall out of love (with someone else but also myself) and the emotional rollercoaster that takes you through.”
4 AM in the Ville is the follow-up to Genia’s 2023 EP, 4 PM In The Ville. The eight-track offering included songs such as “Introducing” and “The One.”
Speaking on the latter project, Genia shared, “The process of creating this tape has been a profound journey in and of itself. This tape embodies an essence of personal growth. Through this tape, I discovered a new passion for the art of directing. Creating the visuals, I found myself once again confronting my innermost pain. It allowed me to open up in ways I could never imagine.”
