The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce has announced Fantasia will be honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
The Grammy-winning vocalist, who made her debut 20 years ago, is among the 2025 class in the category of recording.
“Little girl from High Point, North Carolina, made it to the @hwdwalkoffame,” Fantasia wrote on Instagram. “Wow!!!! I’m lost for words. God Kept every Promise.”
After winning American Idol in 2004, Fantasia released her debut single, “I Believe,” which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. Fantasia’s debut album, Free Yourself, was released on Nov. 22, 2004, via J Records/19 Recordings.
The Grammy-nominated album included hits like “Truth Is” and the title track, written and produced by Missy Elliott.
Since then, Fantasia went on to release five more studio albums: Fantasia (2006), Back to Me (2010), Side Effects of You (2013), The Definition Of… (2016), and Sketchbook (2019). The latter album marked Fantasia’s first independent release under Rock Soul Productions.
“Bittersweet,” from Back to Me, scored Fantasia her first Grammy win (Female R&B Vocal Performance) at the 53rd Grammy Awards in 2011. The heartfelt track was written and produced by Chuck Harmony and Claude Kelly, who later formed the duo Louis York.
Fantasia also released her first holiday album, Christmas After Midnight, in 2017.
Other Walk of Fame honorees in the recording category include The Isley Brothers, Prince (posthumous), Busta Rhymes, Depeche Mode, Los Bukis, The B-52s, Green Day, George Strait, Keith Urban, and WAR.
