Ciara always finds time to praise the Lord. The R&B-pop star has teamed up with Christian rapper Hulvey on his “Altar (Remix).”
Ciara appears in the second verse, singing: “God, thank you for all of the blessings / God, you’re the only one that don’t let me (down) / When the days are feeling down / And the nights I’m stressed out / God, I just come talk to you with a prayer.”
Speaking on her new collaboration, Ciara shares, “When I first heard ‘Altar,’ I was moved by its powerful message and knew I wanted to share it with my followers. Collaborating with Hulvey on this remix has been a meaningful experience, and I believe our partnership will inspire listeners and uplift hearts.”
Hulvey adds, “Working with Ciara on this has been incredible. She’s been so humble throughout the process and I’m beyond grateful to share this moment with her. My hope is that it reaches people who are searching for purpose and hope.”
Ahead of the remix, the Georgia rapper went to social media to express his gratitude for Ciara joining him on the song.
“I am BLOWN AWAY at how Ciara has been so humble this whole process. Seeing how she just wants to give God glory and point people to Jesus is INSPIRING to me,” Hulvey wrote on Instagram.
Ciara commented, “I am sooooo excited for this! One my favorite features I’ve ever done! Thank you for having me Hulvey! God gets all the Praise and the Glory! Thank you Jesus!”

Hulvey released the original version of “Altar” with Forrest Frank on March 31, 2023, via Reach Records. The inspirational track has amassed 32 million streams on Spotify since its release.
“‘Altar’ is a song that is getting back to the heart of what this life is about. Knowing our Father. It is a reflection of His grace we don’t deserve,” Hulvey previously explained.
This isn’t Ciara’s first collaboration with an inspirational artist. She previously worked with Maverick City Music (“On and On”) and Tasha Cobbs Leonard (“In Spite of Me“). The latter song spent 37 weeks on Billboard’s Hot Gospel Songs chart, peaking at No. 7 in 2020.
In other Ciara news, the Grammy winner is set to kick off the Out of This World Tour with Missy Elliott and Busta Rhymes on July 4.
Following the tour, Ciara will reissue her debut album, Goodies, on vinyl and digitally to celebrate its 20th anniversary. Goodies (20th Anniversary) will release Sept. 28, and will include two rarities (“Crazy” and “Represent Me”) and a new dance mix of “Goodies” by Dipha Barus.
