NxWorries, the genre-bending duo consisting of Anderson .Paak and producer Knxwledge, is back with their second album, Why Lawd?
The album was preceded by the singles “Where I Go” featuring H.E.R., “Daydreaming,” “86Sentra,” “FromHere” featuring Snoop Dogg and October London, and “WalkOnBy” featuring Earl Sweatshirt and Rae Khalil.
The 19-track set boasts additional appearances by Charlie Wilson, Thundercat, and Dave Chappelle, who is featured on the opening track, “ThankU.”
Anderson .Paak first teased his NxWorries back in 2020 during an interview with Apple Music’s Zane Lowe. This was months before he and Bruno Mars announced their duo Silk Sonic, which had massive success in 2021.
“We’re working on a new [project],” .Paak told Lowe in October 2020. “I was just over there the other day. You know what I’m saying? We’ve been getting it in. We’ve got a bunch of stuff that we’re really happy about. Just stay tuned. This is going to be real nice. Shout out to Knxwledge, shout out to Stones Throw. We’re coming back.”
Why Lawd? is NxWorries’ follow-up to their beloved 2016 debut album, Yes Lawd! The project included popular grooves such as “Suede,” “What More Can I Say” and “Lyk Dis.”
