Editor’s Note: Usher released a statement rescheduling his first stop in Atlanta to the following dates: Aug. 14 will be rescheduled for Dec. 9. The Aug. 16 show will be rescheduled for Dec. 10, and Aug. 17 is now set for Dec. 12.

Usher’s highly-anticipated Past Present Future Tour will not kick off tonight (Aug. 14) as scheduled.

The R&B icon released a statement announcing the postponement of the opening show in Atlanta. In the statement, the 45-year-old singer explained that he needs to give his body a little extra time to rest and heal.

“For my 30-plus year career, 100% of my blood, sweat and tears has gone into putting on the best performance and creating a memorable experience for my fans,” Usher wrote. “I have every intention of doing that for this tour as well, which is why I have to postpone tonight’s show and reschedule it for a later date to give my body a second to rest and heal.”

He assured that a new date would be announced soon. “You’re still going to get a bit of the past, some of the present and a unique look into the future on the rescheduled date but you’ll also be getting 100% of me.”

Usher continued, “The last thing I want to ever do is disappoint you, the fans who have been early waiting for this tour to start. However, I wouldn’t be the entertainer that I am if I can’t physically give you my best. My team will be sharing news of the rescheduled date soon. I can’t wait to celebrate this legacy with you.”

Usher’s Past Present Future Tour was originally slated to launch Aug. 20 in Washington, D.C. However, the R&B superstar added more dates following his announcement, which moved it up to Aug. 14 in Atlanta.

Last week, Usher shared behind-the-scenes footage of him at tour rehearsals. The clip showed the entertainer meeting with his crew, dancers working on moves, stylists prepping wardrobe, and more as they prepared for one of the most anticipated tours of the year. “ATL, I’m coming home…Night 1 of #PPF is 6 days away. Will I see U?” Usher wrote in an Instagram caption.

The next date on Usher’s sold-out tour itinerary is Aug. 16 in Atlanta. He will perform another show in the same city on Aug. 17 before traveling across North America, playing multiple nights in each market. The first leg is set to conclude later this fall.

In April 2025, Usher will kick off the U.K. and Europe leg of his Past Present Future Tour, which will wrap up in early May.

Usher’s tour comes after releasing his ninth album, Coming Home, ahead of his Emmy-nominated Super Bowl halftime show in February.

“COMING HOME is an ode to going back to your roots, whatever or wherever that may be,” said Usher. “I’m COMING HOME to where I’m comfortable in being exactly who I am right now. My hope is that you identify with the new album no matter where you are or what you’re going through, too.”
