Phabo fans are in for a treat. The “Ratchet & Blues” singer has announced Polaris Wednesdays, a bi-weekly music series, where he will release one new track.
He kicked off his new series on Wednesday (Oct. 16) with “Fur Coat,” produced by Tay Da Prince, Twelve40, Cyclope, and Briozinni.
Speaking on the inspiration behind “Fur Coat,” Phabo notes, “Growing up, fashion was my favorite form of self-expression, and my clothing choices were never limited to what the local weatherman felt was the standard.”
He adds, “I wanted to create something that would allow women the space to feel confident in whatever they choose to style themselves in, and that their efforts never go unnoticed.”

“Fur Coat” is the follow-up to “Kissing In Da Club,” which was released Aug. 23.
“‘Kissing In Da Club’ is the overall embodiment of returning back home after a long tour. As a touring artist, more often than not, the act of reconnecting with your loved one can be so important during that time,” Phabo told Rated R&B.
He added, “It has the propensity to supersede the need for privacy. A crowded space can easily become grounds for PDA, or a dark club corner may grant you a brief moment of intimacy. I just wanted to create a record that resonates with that angst and those connections.”
“Kissing In Da Club” marked Phabo’s first official single since releasing his sophomore album, Don’t Get Too Cozy, in 2023.
“It’s purposely peaks and valleys placed throughout the project so that you don’t get too comfortable in any mindset,” Phabo told Rated R&B about his second album. “It’s just unpredictability in that sense. New words, new inflections, new beat patterns [and] new cores.”
Phabo hasn’t announced a new project yet. However, his plans to release new music every other week should tide over fans until he’s ready to share a full body of work.
