Mary J. Blige continues to lengthen her record-setting streak of top 10s on Billboard‘s Adult R&B Airplay chart with “You Ain’t The Only One.”
The empowering song rises from No. 13 to No. 10 this week, marking the recent Rock & Roll Hall of Famer‘s 28th top 10 entry, the most for any artist.
“You Ain’t The Only One” debuted at No. 22 in the Nov. 2 issue, bringing her total to 63 chart appearances since September 1993.
Of Blige’s 63 entries, she has scored nine No. 1s. Her last visit to the summit was in October with “Breathing” featuring Fabolous. The S.Dot-produced cut, also the lead single from her Gratitude, led for one week.
Released on Oct. 18, “You Ain’t The Only One” is the second single from Blige’s 15th studio album, Gratitude. The R&B legend released a music video co-directed by Eif Rivera.
Gratitude features 13 tracks and includes collaborations with Fat Joe, Jadakiss, and FERG. Notable contributors to her album Gratitude include Rodney “Darkchild” Jerkins, H.E.R., Kaytranada, and DJ Cassidy, among others.
“The overall theme is enjoying life and understanding that, again, life is what inspires me, whether I take the good with the bad,” Blige said of Gratitude. “I look at every lesson as a blessing and I understand that I’m not the only one on the earth going through things. I celebrate my triumph, and I work through my hard times.”
“So, the album is going to be fun in that perspective. There’ll be things that are real and serious, but you’ll be able to dance to it or sing to it. There’s a bunch of different things — ballads, world music. There’s some good s—t on here.”
Amid the album rollout, Blige shared a new video for her latest focus track, “Here I Am.” The downtempo ballad also credits S. Dot as the producer and a co-writer.
At the beginning of next year, Blige will support Gratitude with her headlining For My Fans Tour. The North American leg will start in January 2025 and will include supporting acts Ne-Yo and Mario.
