JoJo has returned with NGL, her first project in four years, via her Clover Music imprint in partnership with BMG.
The EP, which stands for “Not Gonna Lie,” was preceded by the Uncle Luke-sampled “Porcelain” and Khris Riddick-Tynes and Leon Thomas-produced “Too Much To Say.” It includes additional production by Theron “Neff-U” Feemster, NoiseClub, Gino Barletta, and Scott Bruzenak.
Among the project’s new songs is “Ready To Love,” produced by RELYT. Here, JoJo expresses deep frustration over a relationship that isn’t progressing. The idea of moving on stings, but she feels hopeless.
“We went from us to strangers / From close to spacious / We can’t sustain this no more / Let’s make it quick and painless / ‘Fore it gets dangerous,” she sings.
“Ready To Love” is accompanied by a dance-heavy video that JoJo co-directed with Pierre Marias and Tilly Evans-Krueger.
NGL is the follow-up to JoJo’s 2021 EP, Trying Not To Think About It. Before that, she released her fourth album, Good To Know, in 2020.
In February, JoJo will embark on her headlining Too Much To Say Tour with special guest Emmy Meli. The tour launches Feb. 22 in Nashville, with additional stops in Houston, San Diego, Portland, Chicago, Atlanta and more. It will conclude March 29 in New York.
