Rising singer Journey Montana has released her new single “Best One” via 10K Projects.
On the confidence-boosting track, produced by Camper, Montana showers herself with words of affirmation.
“‘Best One’ comes from a place of acknowledging abundance, self-love, and appreciation for being the best choice in any situation. Every once in a while, dealing with a significant other may put you at a crossroads between you and…everyone else,” Montana explains.
“This song explains why I’m the best, so why would you even be considering someone else? Why are you not obsessed? This is a big deal, and if I were you, I would drop everyone on the roster because I’m the best one.”
“Best One” is the third offering from Montana’s debut album, Lucky Girl Syndrome (previously titled where did the sun go?), which releases Jan. 31.
“Best One” follows her autobiographical lead single, “Journey,” and the lovers’ anthem, “You.” All three songs were produced by Camper, who also serves as the album’s executive producer.
“Simply put, ‘You’ is a love song,” Montana explained. “The song embodies the fire you feel in your chest when you love every part of someone. Yearning and desperation, but pure raw emotion. You saved me, so I love you, and I’ll do anything for you. I belong to you, and it doesn’t matter if you belong to me.”
In December, Montana released her “You (Remix)” featuring emerging R&B singer Eli Derby.
Lucky Girl Syndrome will follow Montana’s 2023 EP, Stargirl, which included a feature from Eric Bellinger (“Undefeated”).
