After her 54th birthday (Jan. 11), Mary J. Blige continues to celebrate Capricorn season with a new No. 1 on Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart.
The R&B icon’s latest single, “You Ain’t The Only One,” has ascended from No. 3 to No. 1 on the airplay chart (dated Jan. 18), ending Coco Jones’ five-week reign with “Here We Go (Uh Oh).” It’s Blige’s 10th chart-topper.
Blige’s 10 No. 1s on the Adult R&B Airplay chart include:
- “Thick of It,” 16 weeks at No. 1 (2016)
- “Be Without You,” 14 weeks at No. 1 (2006)
- “IfULeave,” Musiq Soulchild featuring Mary J. Blige, eight weeks at No. 1 (2009)
- “Still Believe in Love” featuring Vado, eight weeks at No. 1 (2024)
- “Good Morning Gorgeous,” four weeks at No. 1 (2022)
- “Not Gon’ Cry,” four weeks at No. 1 (1996)
- “U + Me (Love Lesson),” three weeks at No. 1 (2017)
- “Take Me As I Am,” one week at No. 1 (2007)
- “Breathing” featuring Fabolous, one week at No. 1 (2024)
- “You Ain’t The Only One,” one week at No. 1 so far (2025)
With her new peak, Blige now ties with Charlie Wilson for the third-most No. 1 hits among artists. Additionally, she is the third woman with the most chart-toppers, behind Toni Braxton (11) and Alicia Keys (14).
Elsewhere, Blige’s latest feel-good motivational anthem is her third consecutive leader on this chart, following “Breathing” and “Still Believe in Love.”

The latter track featuring rapper Vado topped the chart for eight consecutive weeks from 2023-2024. This marked her longest-running single on the chart since her collaboration with Musiq Soulchild on “IfULeave,” which also lasted eight weeks.
Blige’s “Breathing” featuring Fabolous was the first single from her latest album, Gratitude, and topped the Adult R&B Airplay for one week this past October.
More notably, “You Ain’t The Only One” is Blige’s first single to reach No. 1 on this chart without accompaniment since “Good Morning Gorgeous” in February 2022. That song, which was nominated for three 2023 Grammys, topped the chart for four weeks.
Released on Oct. 18, 2024, “You Ain’t The Only One” was the second single from Blige’s 15th studio album, Gratitude, which was released the following month. The encouraging song earned Blige her 28th top 10 entry during the week of Nov. 23, 2024, the most of any artist.

As mentioned earlier, Gratitude is Blige’s latest album. The 12-track project includes guest appearances by Fat Joe and FERG, as well as contributions from producers and songwriters like Rodney “Darkchild” Jerkins, H.E.R., DJ Cassidy, S.Dot, and Kaytranada, among others.
Gratitude was noted as an honorable mention on Rated R&B’s 30 Best R&B Albums of 2024 list. “Some voices remain essential today; as one of the genre’s last matriarchs, Blige’s immense voice is one of them,” Antwane Folk said in the year-end review.
Later this month, Blige will kick off her For My Fans Tour in support of Gratitude with special guests Ne-Yo and Mario. The national tour begins Jan. 30 in Greensboro, North Carolina, and concludes April 17 in Philadelphia.
Before the tour, on Jan. 25, Blige reunites with Lifetime for Mary J. Blige’s Family Affair, part of the network’s Voice of a Lifetime movie slate.
This is Blige’s third film installment, following Mary J. Blige’s Real Love and Mary J. Blige’s Strength of a Woman. Actors Ajiona Alexus and Da’Vinchi reprise their roles as Kendra and Ben, respectively.
