Rising R&B singer Chxrry22 has released the official video for her new single “Just Like Me.”
The Avery Stedmam-directed video brings Toronto’s wintry weather indoors as Chxrry22, joined by three models dressed in all white, dances in the synthetic snow, lounges on fur rugs, and sits pretty atop a cherry-red snowmobile.
The aesthetic and even some of the camera angles are reminiscent of music videos from the early 2000s, which aligns with the song’s nostalgic production.
Ahead of the music video’s premiere, Chxrry22 went on YouTube Live to chat with fans about her first visual in over two years.
“The inspiration behind the video is being from Toronto. I really wanted to show you guys what it’s like in the wintertime for us because winter plays such a big role in being from Canada,” Chxrry22 said. “We were going to originally go to Collingwood and shoot it, but we couldn’t. So we brought the snow indoors and we built a winter world.”

The Ethiopian-Canadian singer also discussed her casting choices for the three models in the video. “All the girls in the video are East African,” Chxrry22 shared.
“I wanted everyone to look just like me. I wanted everything about it to be just like me. This song is more than just about being toxic and funny. It really does play a big role in me trying to show you guys where I’m from [and] every part of who I am that makes me, me.”
“Just Like Me,” produced by Believve, was released Feb. 21 via XO Records/Republic Records. It’s the follow-up to “Poppin Out (Mistakes),” released in August 2024. While the latter song didn’t receive video treatment, a snippet of it plays in the beginning of the visual for “Just Like Me.”
This spring, Chxrry22 will join R&B group FLO on the North American leg of their Access All Areas Tour. She will support them on select dates, beginning April 8 in Austin. She will conclude her stint on May 1 in her hometown, Toronto.
