Longtime collaborators Kendrick Lamar and SZA have notched a new hit on Billboard.
Their smooth jam “Luther” has reached No. 1 on the Hot 100. It tallies Lamar’s sixth chart-topper and SZA’s third.
Of Lamar’s No. 1s, four were earned within the last year following his beef with fellow rap star Drake, including his Grammy-winning diss track “Not Like Us.” It spent three weeks atop the chart.

Additionally, “Luther” is rising on the Adult R&B Airplay chart led by Victoria Monét and Usher‘s “SOS (Sex On Sight)” in its first week. The former track moves from No. 9 to No. 6 this week.
“Luther” isn’t the only Kendrick Lamar and SZA collaboration charting on Billboard. Their 2017 track “All The Stars” is No. 1 on R&B Digital Song Sales, No. 1 on R&B Streaming Songs, No. 2 on Hot R&B Songs (peak), No. 8 on Streaming Songs (No. 5 peak), and No. 15 on the Hot 100 (No. 7 peak), among others.
The Oscar-nominated song is lifted from Black Panther: The Album.

“Luther” appears on Lamar’s fifth album, GNX, which was released without warning on Nov. 22, 2024, via pgLang/Interscope Records. The project debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with 319,000 equivalent units sold.
This spring, Lamar and SZA will co-headline their Grand National Tour, which will visit stadiums in North America and Europe.
The tour follows Lamar’s headlining Apple Music’s Super Bowl LIX Halftime Show on Feb. 9. SZA joined Lamar during his set to perform “Luther” and “All The Stars.”
In December, SZA released SOS Deluxe: LANA, an extended version of her 2022 album. The deluxe included 15 new tracks, which was later upped to 19 in January. It includes the Lamar-assisted “30 For 30” and the Grammy-winning “Saturn.” The former is No. 14 on the Billboard Hot 100, down four spots from last week’s No. 10.
