Rising alt-R&B star d4vd has joined forces with Kali Uchis for his new single “Crashing.”
Produced by Tyler Spry and prodvelvet, the atmospheric track finds d4vd feeling assured that he can lean on his significant other when life is in disarray.
“It all comes crashin’ down (Down) / I’ll be holdin’ onto you, holdin’ onto you,” he sings in the chorus.
Uchis responds in verse two, singing, “When the world comes crashin’ down, I know where I’ll stand / Right next to my baby, keep holding my hand.”
Speaking on his new collaboration, d4vd wrote on Instagram, “Kali has been one of my FAVORITE artists for sooo long and and i’m honored and blessed that we were able to collaborate on such a beautiful song. Thank u @kaliuchis.”
“Crashing” is the third single from the d4vd’s debut album, WITHERED, out April 25 via Darkroom and Interscope Records.

The album will also include the previously shared tracks “Where’d It Go Wrong?” and “One More Dance.”
Speaking on the former, d4vd stated, “I’ve spent the past year recording in LA studios, doing sessions with top producers, and doing writing trips, but for ‘Where’d It Go Wrong?’ I sat back down at my house in Houston and recorded on Bandlab which I hadn’t been doing much of lately.”
He added, “It really got me back in my element of how I began making music. This is one of my favorite songs that I’ve made in a long time and it reminded me why I’ve always loved making music on my own.”
Regarding WITHERED, d4vd wrote on Instagram, “This album means SO much to me you have no idea the blood sweat and tears that came with trying to create this project over the past 2 years. Constantly starting over and over and over until there was nothing left on this audio landscape of a canvas than thoughts, melodies, and emotions that were unequivocally me.”
WITHERED will continue the story told on d4vd’s first two EPs Petals to Thorns and The Lost Petals.
According to press materials, “The record takes the listener through the natural evolution and lifespan of the rose, an omnipresent visual in d4vd’s creative output thus far, and is intended to be listened to sequentially like chapters in a book as the demise of a relationship unfolds.”
WITHERED will be available on streaming, CD, and vinyl. Signed vinyl copies are available for preorder for $33, while signed CDs are $11 on d4vd’s official webstore.
On April 11 and 18, d4vd will perform at the 2025 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in Indio, California. On April 27, he will return to his hometown, Houston, for his headlining show at White Oak Music Hall.
