R&B veteran Jon B. has finally confirmed a release date for his new album, Waiting On You.
The project will be released independently March 21 via Vibezelect.
As previously reported, Waiting On You will include features from Tank, Donell Jones, Rick Ross, and Alex Isley.
According to press materials, the 11-track album is “a continuation of his artistic expression and musicianship that has captivated the hearts of R&B enthusiasts since his debut album, Bonafide.”
Tank appears on the title track, which was released in November 2023 as the album’s lead single.
“‘Waiting On You’ describes the feeling of anticipating love in your life, the seasons of waiting,” Jon B. explained. “No matter the timing, even when it seems like it’s taking forever, you have to be patient for your partner in life. Not giving up makes it all worth the wait.”
In November 2024, Jon B. released the second single “Natural Drug,” which he wrote and produced by himself.
Regarding the song, he said, “There is no aphrodisiac like the natural drug a woman is. Through her love, inspiration naturally flows to me. She is why I dig so deep in my creativity, searching for the gems that reflect her brilliance.”
Donell Jones appears on “Understand,” which was released back in April 2019. “We put out [‘Understand’] featuring Donell Jones, and then everything shut down with the pandemic,” Jones told BET.
“After being shut down for two years, I went back to make sure I was happy with the project. It gave me an excuse to put a magnifying glass on it. I also got the opportunity to work with Rick Ross, which was an incredible experience.”
Waiting On You will mark Jon B.’s first album in 13 years, following 2012’s Comfortable Swagg. The latter album included the singles “Only One” and the titular track.

Jon B.’s new album will arrive just two months before the 30th anniversary of his debut album, Bonafide.
The gold-selling album, released in May 1995 via 550 Music/Epic Records, included his Grammy-nominated hit “Someone to Love” featuring Babyface.
The smooth ballad, written and produced by Babyface was nominated for Best Pop Collaboration with Vocals at the 38th Grammy Awards. It also peaked at No. 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
