Bruno Mars fans won’t have to wait much longer for new music. The global star has announced his fourth album, The Romantic, will release Feb. 27 via Atlantic Records.
The first offering from Mars’ highly anticipated album is set to drop Friday (Jan. 9), as first reported by HitsDailyDouble. “New music this Friday,” Mars shared in an Instagram caption for the official album cover. “The Romantic coming 2.27.”
Mars first sent his fans into a frenzy when he confirmed his upcoming project — his first solo LP in 10 years — was complete. “My album is done,” he told his millions of followers across Instagram and X/Twitter.
The Romantic is the follow-up to his 2016 blockbuster 24K Magic, which spawned six Grammy wins, including for Album of the Year and Best R&B Album. The album also included Mars’ smash hit “That’s What I Like,” crowned Song of the Year and Best R&B Song at the Grammys.
Since then, Mars teamed with Anderson .Paak to form their duo Silk Sonic and released the smash album, An Evening With Silk Sonic, in 2021. The album was preceded by the D’Mile and Mars-produced “Leave The Door Open,” which racked up four wins at the 64th Grammy Awards, including the coveted Record of the Year and Song of the Year.
In 2024, Mars embarked on a short but impactful features run. He first joined forces with rapper Sexyy Red for their cheeky collab “Fat Juicy & Wet.” Then, he teamed with Lady Gaga for their immortal duet “Die With A Smile,” which spent five weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and won a Grammy for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance.
Last but not least, Mars joined ROSÉ of K-pop group Blackpink on “APT.,” another hit that peaked at No. 3 on the Hot 100 and is nominated in three categories at the 2026 Grammys: Record of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance.
In October 2025, Mars achieved 10 new certifications from the RIAA. His debut album, Doo-Wops & Hooligans, was upped to 9x platinum (nine million units sold in the U.S.). Among the album’s tracks, “Just The Way You Are” became 21x platinum — now the highest-certified single of all time — while “Grenade” reached 16x platinum, “The Lazy Song” hit 10x platinum and “Marry You” rose to 7x platinum.
