Steve Lacy has announced a release date for his highly anticipated third album, Oh yeah?

His new LP is scheduled to arrive July 17 via RCA Records. The 10-track set is said to be Lacy’s most personal body of work to date. A press release notes that it’s “the culmination of a four-year journey, whereupon Steve found himself feeling at home in foreign countries and situations and less at home at home.”

Oh yeah? will include the previously shared track “Nice Shoes,” which is now titled “Nice Shoes / In Your World,” plus the new lead single, “The Feeling.”

On the self-produced track, written alongside Alice Smith and Matthew Castellanos, an intoxicated Lacy finds himself sifting through photos and memories of his ex, wondering if there’s a chance to rekindle their fire. “Am I ya baby? / Am I ya baby?” he sings in the chorus.

“The Feeling” is accompanied by an official music video directed by Castellanos.

“The Feeling” arrives nearly a year after Lacy previewed his new era with “Nice Shoes.” Released in August 2025, the lustful track featured a vocal sample of James Brown from Lyn Collins’ “Think (About It).”

In a 2025 interview with Rolling Stone, Lacy shared that his next album will be more lyrically-driven than his previous works. “When I first started making sh–t or producing stuff with The Internet, I would always make the beat, make a hook, and just give it away,” Lacy told the publication. “That was my process for a while, so words were always just kind of secondary. I’m like, ‘If my beat hard, this bass line hard, the chords hard, what else do we need?’ But now I’m like, ‘OK, I want to say sh–t how I would say sh–t.’ ”

Oh yeah? will follow Lacy’s Grammy-winning album Gemini Rights (2022), which included his No. 1 hit “Bad Habit.”
