Ciara has teamed up with country singer Walker Hayes for the remix of his latest single “Y’all Life.”

The hip-hop-influenced banger interpolates rapper Nelly’s 2000 hit “Country Grammar.” Ciara comes in for the second verse, singing, “See you tryna copy my wave / But you cannot do it my way / It don’t matter how you try / I’ma be a Southern girl for live.”

Ciara and Hayes harmonize on the catchy hook, “Turn that bass up, shawty, show ’em how / Y’all, we raise up and, y’all, we goin’ down, down, baby / Yo’ street in my Bronco / I’m a talk to ya real slow.”

Both Ciara and Hayes will perform “Y’all Life” at the CMT Artists of the Year, which airs tonight (Oct. 14) at 9 p.m. EST on CMT.

“Was blown away by @ciara and her team this week. Just such good talented folks to work with. My fam, team and me are smitten. Not to mention she crushes her part on this sick new version of ‘Y’all Life,'” Hayes wrote in an Instagram caption.

Ciara and Walker’s collaboration isn’t as random as it may seem. She’s actually a fan. Last December, Ciara posted a TikTok of her jamming to Walker’s viral single “Fancy,” which peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100. Her TikTok has received nearly 527,000 likes to date.

Ciara’s appearance on “Y’all Life” comes just two weeks after releasing her Summer Walker-assisted single “Better Thangs.”  It’s the follow-up to her upbeat track “Jump,” featuring Coast Contra, which debuted at No. 4 on Billboard’s R&B/Hip-Hop Digital Song Sales chart.

Both tracks will appear on Ciara’s eighth album, which will release on Uptown/Republic Records, in partnership with her imprint Beauty Marks Entertainment.

In a recent interview with Zane Lowe of Apple Music, Ciara hinted that her next project will be “super R&B” and reminds her of her 2004 debut, Goodies. “My first album, to me, was my best album of my whole journey. I feel like this album has taken me right there where that album was —  energy-wise, tonality…the R&B core that’s in this record,” she told Lowe.
