According to Hits Daily Double, Thicke was on track to sell between 130,000 to 140,000 copies of “Blurred Lines” during week one. Guess folks forgot Robin Thicke has that “Magic.” He made first-sales predictions disappear and made 40,000 plus units appear as “Blurred Lines” sold 177,000 during its first-week, becoming his first-number one album on Billboard 200.

Wait , there’s more. The album also becomes Thicke’s highest first-week sales ever, topping his previous incumbent 2008’s “Something Else” which sold 137k.

The “Feel Good” singer isn’t done celebrating though. Since the album’s title track remains No.1 for the ninth-consecutive week on the Hot 100, Thicke now becomes the first artist since Dec. 2012 to be No.1 on both the Hot 100 and the Billboard 200. Rihanna held the previous record with “Diamonds” spending its second week atop the Hot 100 and the “Unapologetic” album debuting at No.1 on the Billboard 200.

Kudos to Robin! If you haven’t already,  pick up your copy of “Blurred Lines” in stores or iTunes.
