Alicia Keys has landed two new awards from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).

Her 2012 single “Brand New Me” is now certified gold with over 500,000 equivalent units sold. The self-produced song, which Keys co-wrote with Emeli Sandé, appears on Keys’ Grammy-winning album, Girl On Fire.

“‘Brand New Me’ is about the journey it takes to get to a place where you are proud to be a new you,” Keys explained. “There is nothing wrong with growing! There may be people in your life that knew you for a long time and they think of you only as the person you used to be and not the person you now are!”

“Brand New Me” is the third song from Girl On Fire to achieve an RIAA award; the other two are the title track (certified 7x platinum) and “Fire We Make” with Maxwell (certified gold).

Keys’ 2019 single “Show Me Love” featuring Miguel has been certified platinum with over one million equivalent units sold. The romantic song, co-produced by Keys and Morgan Matthews, was released as the lead single to Keys’ 2020 album, ALICIA.

“Show Me Love,” which spent five weeks atop Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart, is the second song from ALICIA to reach platinum status. Keys’ uplifting anthem “Underdog” was among the RIAA certifications she earned in 2022.

In other news, Keys’ Hell’s Kitchen musical is set to debut on Broadway on March 28 at Shubert Theatre.

Keys is scheduled to perform at the 2024 Lovers & Friends Festival on May 4 in Las Vegas, Nevada. The star-studded lineup also includes Janet Jackson, Usher, Mary J. Blige and many more.

Later in May, Keys and her husband, Swizz Beatz, will be honored at the Gordon Parks Foundation‘s Annual Awards Dinner and Auction. The power couple will receive the Patrons of the Arts Award.

“We are deeply honored to be receiving the Gordon Parks Patrons of the Arts Award in 2024. We truly appreciate the Foundation’s work providing scholarships and fellowships to the next generation of students and artists whose creative work reflects and extends Gordon’s important legacy,” they said in a joint statement.
