Chxrry22 doesn’t let a failed relationship get the best of her on her new song, “Poppin Out (Mistakes).”

On the fiery track, produced by Believve and DaHeala, Chxrry22 declares: “Cryin’ over n****s ain’t allowed / Being a heart broke b***h is outta style.”

Instead, she keeps her head high and hits the town with some of her close friends for an adventurous night. While she may be back on the prowl, she isn’t taking any guy seriously.

“Walkin up on me like ‘ma chérie’ / Cause he foreign / In my ear I ignored him / Cause what the f**k I look like tryna hold hands? / I’ll let you send a 100 racks that’s romance,” she sings.

“Poppin Out (Mistakes)” is another catchy anthem from the emerging star, signed to The Weeknd‘s XO Records and Republic Records. It’s the Toronto native’s first song release of the year.

In October 2023, Chxrry22 released her second EP, Siren. The seven-track offering included features from Offset (“Favorite Girl”) and Vory (“Never Had This“).

“This project wasn’t to be sad. I didn’t want it to be super emotional. I wanted it to be a declaration of confidence, dominance and fun. I want people to have a good time with it,” Chxrry22 told Rated R&B about Siren.

In 2022, the singer-songwriter released her debut EP, The Other Side, which also contained seven tracks.

Regarding The Other Side, Chxrry22 explained to Rated R&B, “My approach to writing this project was, ‘Just be as honest as you can be and talk about everything — the good and the bad. Don’t make yourself the victim.’ There’s a lot of people that walk around feeling like the villain all the time. And it’s okay. Not everybody is the victim. Someone’s gotta be the villain.”

She continued, “When I sat down and made the project, I just took all of the rules out and was like, ‘Okay, I f****d this guy. I did this and that. Let me just write about it.'”

Earlier this year, Chxrry joined Mariah The Scientist on her To Be Eaten Alive Tour.

In October, Chxrry22 will join The Weeknd on his After Hours Til Dawn Global Stadium Tour in Australia. Two shows will be held on Oct. 5 and Oct. 6 at Marvel Stadium in Melbourne and two on Oct. 22 and Oct. 23 at Accor Stadium in Sydney.
