Grammy-winning singer Estelle has returned with her new single “Oh I.”
The dancefloor anthem pulsates with funky bass lines, synth claps, and vibrant strings that make it an irresistible groove.
“Oh I, / I just wrote myself a letter / Said I’m changing for the better / Oh, I / Lost myself in such frustration / Tryna get back to my patience,” she sings on the disco-funk tune.
Estelle co-produced “Oh I” with Keith Harris, who co-wrote her 2008 breakout hit “American Boy” featuring Kanye West.
Regarding her new track, Estelle explains to Rated R&B, “‘Oh I’ is intended for everyone who’s had to get real with themselves and take their joy back. If that isn’t you, I pray that you are reminded of your joy and self and feel even more joy when you hear this record.”
“Oh I” is the first single from Estelle’s long-awaited sixth album, which is slated to arrive this fall.

Estelle’s upcoming album will follow 2018’s Lovers Rock. The reggae-inspired project included the singles “Love Like Ours” featuring Tarrus Riley, “Better” and “So Easy” featuring Luke James.
The LP featured additional appearances by Maleek Berry, Konshens, Nick & Navi, Kranium, Chronixx, Alicai Harley, and HoodCelebrityy, now known as Tina.
Lovers Rock debuted at No. 2 on Billboard’s Reggae Albums chart.

Since Lovers Rock, the West London native launched The Estelle Show on Apple Music and starred in Netflix’s Fatal Affair, among other endeavors.
On the music side, Estelle released her standalone single “Set Me On Fire” in 2020. Further, she appeared on KAYTRANADA‘s Grammy-winning album Bubba (“Oh No”), Robert Glasper’s Black Radio III – Supreme Edition (“Something I Wouldn’t Do”) and Austin Millz’s Breathwork EP (“Freeway“).
Earlier this spring, Estelle celebrated the 16th anniversary of her 5x platinum hit “American Boy” with a special NASHUP Remix.
Estelle has another milestone anniversary approaching this year. Her debut album, The 18th Day, turns 20 in October. The hip-hop soul project included her debut single “1980,” as well “Free” featuring Megaman and “Go Gone.”
