The Recording Academy has announced the performers and presenters for the 67th Grammy Awards Premiere Ceremony.

The ceremony, hosted by songwriter Justin Tranter, takes place at Peacock Theater in Los Angeles on Sunday, Feb. 2, at 12:30 p.m. PT / 3:30 p.m. ET. It will also stream live on the Academy’s YouTube channel and website.

Deborah Cox, who is nominated in the Best Musical Theater Album category, will perform in the opening number along with other nominees: Yolanda Adams, Wayne Brady, Scott Hoying, Angelique Kidjo, and Taj Mahal.

Muni Long, the most-nominated artist in the R&B field this year, will also hit the stage at the Premiere Ceremony. There will be additional performances by other current nominees, including Joe Bonamassa, Joyce DiDonato, Béla Fleck, Renée Fleming, and Kelli O’Hara.

Former Recording Academy Board of Trustees Chair and musical legend Jimmy Jam will present at the ceremony. He will be joined by nominees Bob Clearmountain, Rhiannon Giddens, Queen Sheba, and Anoushka Shankar.

Recording Academy CEO Harvey Mason Jr. states: “The Premiere Ceremony will not only kick off our GRAMMY Sunday, it will provide an opportunity to show that in times of adversity, music has the power to be used for good, to help our community unite, and to show our community’s resilience. I look forward to honoring the year in music and being together with our amazing community.”

At the Premiere Ceremony, held before the Grammy Awards telecast, more than 80 Grammy awards across all genres, including R&B, will be presented.

The R&B field consists of Best R&B Album, Best Progressive R&B Album, Best R&B Performance, Best Traditional R&B Performance, and Best R&B Song.

At this time, it is not confirmed which awards in the R&B field will be announced during the Premiere Ceremony. Fans will have to tune in to find out.

Long is nominated in four out of the five categories in the R&B field, including Best R&B Album (Revenge), Best R&B Performance (“Made For Me – Live On BET”), Best Traditional R&B Performance (“Make Me Forget“), and Best R&B Song (“Ruined Me“).

Revenge, Long’s second album, was ranked No. 1 on Rated R&B’s 25 Best R&B Albums of 2024 list. The album includes the No. 1 hits “Make Me Forget” and “Ruined Me,” which topped Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart.

The viral hit “Made For Me” reached No. 1 on Billboard’s Mainstream R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay and R&B Digital Song Sales charts.

Long achieved her first Grammy win at the 65th Grammy Awards  in 2023, with her breakout hit “Hrs and Hrs,” which won Best R&B Performance.

As for Cox, her Best Musical Theater Album nomination is for her contribution to The Wiz (2024 Broadway Cast Recording). Cox starred as Glinda, the Good Witch of the South, in the Broadway musical.

She shares her first-ever nomination with fellow principal vocalists Wayne Brady, Nichelle Lewis and Avery Wilson.

The 67th Grammy Awards, hosted by Trevor Noah, will air live after the Premiere Ceremony at 8 p.m. ET on CBS and will stream live and on-demand on Paramount+.
