Ledisi has revealed her new album, The Crown, will release April 25 via Listen Back Entertainment/BMG.

“With every album I sing LIFE and write songs geared towards the human experience,” says Ledisi. “The Crown is a metaphor for being in the spotlight and being of service to others. I hope people feel no matter how heavy or challenging life is we always choose to wear our crowns with grace and confidence. Always choosing love and the truth.”

The Grammy winner’s 12th album will include the lead single, “Love You Too,” and the follow-up “BLKWMN.”

Ledisi released the former track ahead of Super Bowl LIX in February, where she performed “Lift Every Voice and Sing.”

“This was a deeply personal and historic moment for me,” Ledisi said of her performance. “Singing ‘Lift Every Voice and Sing’ on this platform is a celebration of our journey, our strength, and our future. I’m honored to have shared this with the world.”

At the time of this writing, “Love You Too” is No. 16 on Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart.

In early March, the New Orleans native released her empowering anthem “BLKWMN,” timed perfectly for Women’s History Month.

“‘BLKWMN’ is more than just a song—it’s an anthem. It’s about honoring the brilliance, power, and perseverance that Black women embody every single day,” said Ledisi. “From our history to our present, we’re still standing tall, creating, leading, and shaping the world.”

The Crown is the follow-up to Good Life, released in January 2024. The project was ranked No. 2 on Rated R&B’s 25 Best R&B Albums of 2024 list.

“Good Life is a celebration of life’s joy, love, and resilience,” Ledisi told Rated R&B. “It captures unique moments in a musical journey that mirrors the human experience. Join me in finding beauty in our shared humanity through every note and lyric.”
