Ledisi has released her 11th album, Good Life, via Listen Back Entertainment/BMG.
The 13-track offering includes the previously shared “I Need To Know,” “Sell Me No Dreams” and “Perfect Stranger” featuring Kenny Lattimore.
“Good Life is a celebration of life’s joy, love, and resilience,” Ledisi explains to Rated R&B. “It captures unique moments in a musical journey that mirrors the human experience. Join me in finding beauty in our shared humanity through every note and lyric.”
The album opens with the title track, produced by Camper, where Ledisi gives praise to her Higher Power. “I throw up my hands / Thank you for this life / Blessings over me / The good life,” she sings in the chorus.
Much of the album explores love-centric themes. Romantic songs like “Magic (Voila)” and the Benny Butcher-assisted “Quality Time” underscore love’s highs, while tracks like “Me and U Ain’t Good” and “I Need To Know” navigate love’s rocky side.
Good Life is the follow-up to Ledisi’s 2021 project, Ledisi Sings Nina, a tribute to Nina Simone. The album scored Ledisi a nomination for Best Pop Vocal Album at the 64th Grammy Awards. In spring 2021, Ledisi released her live album, Ledisi Live at the Troubador.
Good Life is Ledisi’s first full-length original album since 2020’s The Wild Card.
On March 6, Ledisi will launch The Good Life Tour in York, Pennsylvania. Fellow R&B singers Raheem DeVaughn and BJ The Chicago Kid will join Ledisi on the road on select dates. The tour will conclude April 14 in Oakland, California.
