Jill Scott makes her grand return with To Whom This May Concern, her first album in 11 years, out via Human Re Sources/The Orchard.
“It was necessary to take a long break,” Scott told The Guardian about her hiatus. “I don’t think you can create art without having some living in between and there were reasons to make some major changes.”
The 19-track set was preceded by “Beautiful People,” “Don’t Play” and “Pressha,” a top 10 hit on Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart.

The album includes production by Adam Blackstone, Om’Mas Keith, DJ Premier, Camper, Andre Harris, Seige Montracity, Trombone Shorty, Eric Wortham, DW Wright and Vincent “VT” Tolan.
To Whom This May Concern is the follow-up to Scott’s 2015 album, Woman, which opened at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart. The album included the Grammy-nominated hit “Can’t Wait” and “Fool’s Gold,” both co-written with SiR.
