R&B singer-songwriter MarcLo will release his debut album, 11 Days, independently April 17.
Regarding the album, MarcLo exclusively tells Rated R&B, “In January 2025, while Los Angeles was recovering from devastating fires, I came home to terrible air quality and 11 unexpected days alone in my living room. I decided that whatever music I created in those 11 days would become my next project. With just a piano, bass, laptop, microphone, and my daughter’s toy xylophone, I made an album meant to uplift people during a difficult time and reconnect us to something human.”
11 Days will include the previously shared songs “Muni (I Used To Love You),” “Marvel” and “Interest.” Along with his album announcement, MarcLo has unveiled the latest track, “ONS,” and its official video, directed by Rob Kwasniak and Anara Dorian.
Short for “One Night Stand,” the production is built on Latin percussion and a funky bassline that feels like summer under the stars.
Over the groovy backdrop, MarcLo reflects in awe on an intended temporary connection that became a lasting one. “How did we get here from a one night stand? / Never the same / Didn’t come in looking for love but we found it,” he sings.
“‘ONS’ is the song on 11 Days that you can’t help but move to,” says MarcLo. “Behind the drum grooves and musicality is a song about how you can find love in the most unexpected places.”
In other news, MarcLo (Marcus Lomax) co-wrote K-pop band BTS’ “Hooligan” from their comeback album ARIRANG. Some of his other writing credits include Zedd (“The Middle”), Chris Brown (“Fine By Me”) and Elmiene (“Useless Without You”), among many others.
