The Jack Moves, a duo from Newark, New Jersey, taps into the groovy soul sounds of the ’60s and ’70s for their new single “Doublin’ Down.”
Zee Desmondes and Teddy Powell of The Jack Moves articulate the words behind the nostalgic record by releasing an accompanying visual as well. Shot in Newark, the video’s director, Pete Stempien, says he wanted the music video to tell “the stories of broken individuals struggling to make their way in Newark’s criminal underground ruled by pornographers, voodoo priests, and cheap hoods.”
The song “Doublin’ Down,” which is available on iTunes and Spotify, will appear on The Jack Moves’ untitled 2015 album.
