The Amours Changes EP

November Yellow

R&B sister duo The Amours have released their official debut EP, Changes, via November Yellow.

The 10-track offering, executive produced by Camper, includes the previously shared songs “Before I Met You,” “On The Run, “JK, I Love You,” and “Pick Me Up” featuring TA Thomas. The project also includes a special cameo from their mother, who appears on the conversational opening track and interlude.

On the title track, Jakiya and Shaina embrace personal transformation, including outgrowing certain situations and relationships. “I’m going through changes / Must be my fault / Change ain’t a bad thing / ‘Cause I don’t feel bad at all,” they sing.

The penultimate “Safety Net” is a lush, harmonious ballad that takes place at the near end of a relationship: “We ain’t no good for me, I gotta / Change it all up / Such a dangerous love.”

The closing number, “Goodbye,” bids farewell to a no-good lover: “No regrets, once I let you go.” The track was co-produced by Alex Isley, Camper, and Warryn Campbell.

“We’re beyond excited to share this body of work with the masses. The process of formulating this project has been one of the best experiences of our lives. We were able to really dig deep and showcase a level of vulnerability we have yet to reveal to our fans,” says The Amours. “In the midst of this process, we’ve gone through a whirlwind of changes. From the EP title to the shift in songs, scratching everything and starting over. We’ve embraced every single change we’ve had to endure.”

They continue, “Most recently, at the conclusion of this process, we lost one of our biggest fans and a piece of our heart, our grandfather Lee S. Berry. We dedicate this project to him, our hero. As we continue on and embrace one of the hardest changes we’ve ever had to deal with, we know that he is smiling down on us, rooting for us to keep going.”

The Amours will support Changes this summer on tour. They will kick off their mini trek on June 8 in La Plata, Maryland, at the Phoenix International Benefit Gala. From there, they will perform in New York, Chicago, Atlanta, and Philadelphia.
