Erykah Badu returns to the Mother Land on the global issue cover of ESSENCE Magazine. The soul singer took at trip to Tanzania and Kenya with the ESSENCE team for a beautiful cover story photo shoot.
In her cover story, Badu speaks on her music muses, the healing power of joy and her connection to Africa.
“When I just breath the oxygen, I get real relaxed,” she says. “I don’t know, but something about the vibrations or the frequency here is kind of.. I remember, you know?”
Badu recently performed at the 2015 Essence Festival, which was held during Fourth of July weekend.
