John Legend and Andra Day paid homage to Muhammad Ali, who died on June 3, at the Spike’s 2016 Guys Choice Awards.
Taped on June 4, the Guys Choice Awards celebrated the life of one of the greatest boxers of all time with the classic George Benson song “The Greatest Love of All,” first written for the movie The Greatest, a biopic about Ali.
“The Champ was the towering figure of our times, in the boxing ring and beyond,” Legend said in his speech. “He was a freedom fighter who used his fists and his wits, his force and his faith to make our world a better and more just place.”
