Mary J. Blige took a mini-break from her King and Queen of Hearts Tour to visit the folks at Good Morning America on Wednesday.
The Queen of Hip-Hop Soul performed her number one hit “Thick of It.” Dressed in an all-black suit, Blige delivered an emotional performance of the Jazmine Sullivan-penned track.
“Thick of It” is the first single off Blige’s 13th album, Strength of a Woman, which is slated to release in December — although a release date hasn’t been set.

Blige also sat down with host Robin Roberts for a candid interview about her ongoing divorce battle.
“My heart is OK, I’m hanging in there,” Blige said. “I mean, no one wants to go through this and this is hard. I’m hanging in there.”
Despite all the drama, Blige says touring has been therapeutic for her.
“It’s been so healthy for me because this is where I bring all my pain,” she said. “I bring it to the stage … and my fans are there. They come to the show with all of their issues or trials and tribulations and this is where we’re healing. I have to stay strong and I have to be the strength for myself. I had to save myself and I’m saving myself now.”
