R&B Duo Lion Babe (singer Jillian Hervey and producer Lucas Goodman) have rebirthed the essence of chill on their new song “Rockets.”
“Fly high like I’m NASA/ Move my hips like a salsa/ I’m like butter on lobster/ We lit/ We lit/ Got me singing like Chaka/ Moon walking in mí casa/ young Queen Cleopatra,” Hervey sings.
The song has a similar vibe as Erykah Badu’s “Didn’t Cha Know,” but still remains in its own lane. Goodman’s vintage production is reminiscent of 70’s soul with its mesmerizing bass line through the track. Fellow NYC artist Moe Moks assists the duo with his equally chill rhymes.
“Rockets” follows the visual to “Got Body,” their cover of Tom Jones’ “She’s A Lady” and the Sun Joint mixtape.
