After capping off 2017 with “NightTime,” Trevor Jackson drops a new track titled “Apocalypse.” The upbeat selection is lifted from Jackson’s forthcoming EP, Rough Drafts Pt. 1.
The Caribbean-inspired song is about being in love with someone until the world ends. “The track is about that feeling of being confused about yourself or parts of your relationship,” Jackson told Vibe. “However, the one thing you do know for sure is that you need that person. Even if it was the end of the world you’d want them next to you.”
Jackson will serve as the supporting act on Justine Skye’s Ultraviolet Tour, which kicks off on March 21 in Washington, D.C.
In other news, Jackson’s hit show Grown-ish was renewed by Freeform earlier this year for a 20-episode second season. The show was renewed after just airing four episodes. Jackson will also star in the remake of the 1972 blaxploitation film Superfly, which is being filmed in Atlanta.
