Lloyd is “Excited” to dance again in the new video for his latest single off his Tru album.
The Jam Session and The Visual League-directed clip starts with Lloyd joining a green screen set for what looks like his own video shoot. He spends his time on camera sharing laughs with a couple of gorgeous women and busting out a few dance moves with male colleagues.
“There’s no time to waste right now / Give me all you have inside,” he sings. “If you let me, I’ll show you how / How to groove on this fantastic ride.”
In August, Lloyd released his Tru, his first album in seven years. The highly personal and introspective project is an extension to his 2016 EP of the same title.
“I think sometimes it’s easier to hide behind a filter so much now because people are afraid to be judged or misunderstood,” he mentioned while discussing the title track to Rated R&B. “I think a lot of people are hated or have hate in their hearts because of the same thing. Every day is not the most beautiful and every day is also really not the worse day that you feel it may be. Maybe if I had the opportunity to still record, if I still had the voice, if I still had the audience, I wanted to take them to a place of truth in my song. The best way I knew to do that was to talk about myself.”
