JoJo could be adding some New Orleans flavor to her next album. The singer was spotted in the studio with 2019 Grammy nominee PJ Morton on Monday (Jan. 28) working on some new sounds.
The photo of the two artists caught them standing at a keyboard in creative mode. Morton captioned, “PJ X JOJO #MadeinNewOrleans,” which undoubtedly signaled they were cooking up some heat.
JoJo previously teamed up with music superheroes Bryan-Michael Cox and Jermaine Dupri in the studio to work on the follow-up to 2016’s Mad Love. Before 2018 ended, she blessed fans with revamped versions of her first and second album.
During an interview with Sway Calloway of MTV’s TRL last July, JoJo mentioned the direction of her next album. “You know how hip-hop has influenced my life. I really want to bring that to the forefront of this project and make sure that it’s interwoven throughout this entire project,” she revealed.
She continued, “I want to write in a way to where I’m being completely transparent to where it speaks particularly to young women. I want it to be hard. I want beats to be hard and I want the content to be real. I have nothing to hide and I just want to be as raw as possible.”
