Alicia Keys has a story to tell with intimate memories from some important people, too. The multi-awarded performer has revealed plans to release More Myself, a memoir that will detail her incredible journey from self-censorship to full expression.
Schedule to arrive on March 31, 2020, via Oprah Winfrey’s An Oprah Book imprint and Macmillan’s Flatiron Books, More Myself will be treated as part autobiography and part narrative documentary.
Described as a “360-degree perspective,” the life story will revisit Keys’ time as a child in the Hell’s Kitchen neighborhood of Manhattan, her illustrious career and element of freedom through her eyes. Her two sons (Egypt and Genesis) and her husband Swizz Beats will also speak candidly about Keys as a mother and as a wife.
“I could feel the power of Alicia’s presence even before she belted out the first soulful notes of the lyrics that made her famous—’I keep on fallin’ in and out of love with you.’ I knew she had all those sparkling qualities that make stars shine. More important, Alicia has navigated the spotlight and pressures of fame while retaining a humble and beautiful spirit. I am honored she chose to share her personal story through my imprint,” shared Winfrey in a statement.
More Myself is available for preorder now.
In other news, Keys took home the 2019 iHeartRadio Innovator Award last night in Los Angeles. She also performed her latest single “Raise a Man,” with her oldest son Egypt. In a touching social media post, she expressed that their “mommy and me” moment sent chills through her body.
